Each facet of the worship service, including the music, touches people and reinforces the Sunday message. From our youngest musicians to those who have been sharing their talents for years, songs of joy and praise ring out on a Sunday morning. Consider joining in on one or more of the following opportunities. You are guaranteed to have a good time of fun and fellowship.
If you are interested in any of the music opportunities at Brownback’s, contact Penny Sallade at email@example.com or call the church office for more information.
The Chancel Choir is open to youth in Middle School through adults. This group performs on the first 3 Sundays each month; however, you do not need to commit to being in church every week for the next nine months! Many of the singers travel throughout the season, and we adjust the musical selections to accommodate. Rehearsals for Chancel Choir are on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am.
The Chancel Handbell choir is open to Middle School youth through adults. This group plays in church on the 3rd Sunday of each month, and rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:45 pm. Because playing handbells is unlike other instruments you may have (or not have) played, previous instrumental experience is not required. The key to playing handbells is counting, reading color-coded notes, and being a little bit coordinated!
The Youth Handbell choir is comprised of youth in Elementary and Middle School. This group plays in church periodically as schedules permit, typically 4 times a year. Rehearsal days and times are flexible, working around the ringers’ busy schedules! Children at this age are like sponges and learn the ringing techniques very quickly (sometimes quicker than adults). Having been exposed to handbell ringing, several of our ringers have gone on to ring in school handbell choirs.
GOOD NEWS SINGERS
On the 4th Sunday of each month, the singers will be taking a lighter approach, singing unison songs that are designed to be learned in one rehearsal. So if your schedule is a little busy but you are interested in singing, consider joining in on the 4th Sunday with a rehearsal on the Wednesday prior at 6:00 pm.
